The Passion Behind Every Repair – Meet Kristian
At CARSTAR Welland, every successful repair depends on the people working behind the scenes to ensure each detail is handled properly.
As Parts Manager, Kristian plays an essential role in keeping the repair process moving. From inspecting every component that arrives to helping prevent unnecessary delays, his attention to detail supports both the technicians completing the repairs and the guests waiting to get back on the road.
For Kristian, joining the collision repair industry was a natural extension of a lifelong passion for vehicles.
A Lifelong Curiosity About Collision Repair
Kristian has been interested in cars for as long as he can remember. Like many drivers, he has also experienced firsthand the damage and disruption that can follow a collision.
Those experiences left him curious about what happens next.
“I’ve always wanted to know how a car could go from post-collision carnage to looking brand new in a short period of time,” he says.
That curiosity eventually led Kristian to work in the quality control department of a salvage yard, where he gained valuable experience inspecting automotive parts and learning more about how vehicles are constructed.
While he appreciated the knowledge he gained, he realized he wanted to be involved in restoring vehicles rather than watching them be dismantled and recycled.
Finding the Right Opportunity at CARSTAR Welland
When Kristian saw an opening for a parts position at CARSTAR Welland, the opportunity immediately stood out to him.
“Applying to CARSTAR was just the perfect opportunity for me,” he explains. “I would be able to play a role in repairing cars and getting them back on the road rather than seeing them torn apart and recycled.”
The welcoming culture at CARSTAR Welland was apparent from his very first interaction with the team.
From Jenny’s initial phone call to arrange the interview to meeting Jenny and John in person, Kristian felt supported and respected throughout the process.
“They were very accommodating and welcoming,” he says. “I felt like more than just a prospective employee.”
That first impression ultimately became one of the reasons CARSTAR Welland felt like the right place for him.
More Than a Team
Today, Kristian says the relationships he has built with his coworkers are his favourite part of working at CARSTAR Welland.
“I wouldn’t call us a team—we’re a family,” he says. “We work together like a well-oiled machine.”
While everyone brings different skills and levels of experience to the shop, Kristian believes every person has something valuable to contribute.
“We all learn from each other regardless of experience, and everyone brings exceptional value to the table.”
That willingness to collaborate helps the team solve challenges, maintain high standards and provide a smoother experience for every guest who brings a vehicle through the doors.
Making Sure Every Repair Starts Right
As Parts Manager, quality control is at the centre of Kristian’s role.
Every component that arrives at CARSTAR Welland must be carefully inspected and mirror-matched to confirm that it is correct, compatible and suitable for the repair. That includes everything from major exterior panels to the smallest nuts, bolts and fasteners.
In many cases, parts arrive before the vehicle itself. Inspecting those components early allows Kristian and the team to identify incorrect or damaged parts before production begins.
This preparation helps reduce potential interruptions and keeps the repair process moving as efficiently as possible.
“Inspecting them before the repair process begins allows us to mitigate delays later,” Kristian explains. “It allows for a smooth repair process and fast turnaround.”
While guests may never see much of this work taking place, it can make a significant difference in how smoothly their repair progresses.
Doing Things the Right Way
Kristian understands that a collision repair is more than a technical process. For the person waiting for their vehicle, it can be an unfamiliar and stressful experience.
That is why the team focuses not only on completing high-quality repairs but also on providing support and communication throughout the process.
“Here at CARSTAR, we do things right,” Kristian says. “We understand how stressful the repair process is, and we do absolutely everything in our power to make it a pleasant experience.”
Providing regular updates and answering questions helps guests understand what is happening with their vehicle and what they can expect next.
“Communication is the name of the game for us, whether it’s providing updates along the repair process or answering any questions you may have.”
Helping People Get Back on the Road
Although Kristian’s role centres on automotive parts, the purpose behind his work is ultimately much bigger.
Each part he checks and every potential delay he helps prevent contributes to returning a safe, properly repaired vehicle to someone who depends on it.
For Kristian and the team at CARSTAR Welland, that responsibility is never taken lightly.
“We don’t just fix cars,” he says. “We help people get back on the road as if an accident never happened.”
At CARSTAR Welland, we’re proud to have people like Kristian working behind the scenes to ensure every repair begins with care, quality and attention to detail.
His passion for vehicles, commitment to quality control and appreciation for the people around him make him an important part of the CARSTAR Welland family.
